Little Wild Boar Poem by Aneek Chatterjee

Little Wild Boar

The young tiger
jumped to chase a wild boar
in the slushy jungle areas
of Ranthambhore

It was a dream run
for the tourists
perched in jeep and van
in a cloudy afternoon

Kind of a live tv show
for all, - native and foreign
people from India, Japan and Sweden
Mesmerizing, the little boar escaped the chase.

Little boars outside
are not that lucky
when the tiger roars
(all) animals feel shaky

The small the medium and the big
the wise the fool and the pig
tremble in the face of furious roar
coward, little wild boar?
