DI SHANG XING: "Walking on the Causeway"
-by LIU YUXI (772-842)
-Translated by Frank C Yue
Wine banners at each other stare
At the head of the causeway long.
Below the causeway, masts line up;
Above, tav'rns beckons with wine cup.
At sundown, hurri'd come along
Pedestrians the ferry to fare;
Now, all over mid-stream are found
Rowing oars with their moving sound.
《堤上行》 劉禹錫
酒旗相望大堤頭,
堤下連檣堤上樓。
日暮行人爭渡急,
槳聲幽軋滿中流。
