Living In A Nightmare Poem by Ray Hansell

Living In A Nightmare

Many times I've heard it said
You don't know what you've got until it's gone
Truer words never spoken
Especially with what now is going on

Many businesses have closed down
While others limit those inside
There really is no place to run
While inside our homes we hide

Who would have ever believed
That one day it would come to this
That all the things taken for granted
Are the things most often missed

Like going to the gym
Or just getting a haircut
Sitting down and drinking coffe
But now all these places are shut

This is not to minimize
Those whose life's were lost
Only when this is over
That's when we'll see the cost

Of course the cost I talk about
Has to do with those who died
Well knowing that the rest of us
Were probably lucky to survive

No onw knows how long all of this
Will be going on
But here's hoping somewhere down the road
All of this will soon be gone

This is not to minimize. We have to feel and protect the beauty of health and life. A deep perceptional poem is well penned. Going to gym one can remain fit.
