Loneliness Poem by Calvin Okwalinga

Loneliness

Rating: 5.0

I hear the echoes
the sound of the darkness speaking
the clarity in my senses paint a story that only makes vivid sense to me
whispers in the wind, singing a lullaby with a tune of what should have been
of a story that regret created a familiarity with.

I search for solid ground in nothingness, a mirror of what a heart filled with emptiness reflects
a story that everyone hears but no one quite understands,
a feeling of being with everything and nothing all at once

i can hear the echoes
in the darkness of my own minds creation
a feeling that my efforts can almost grasp with a will overpowered by my weakness
This darkness does speak
the stories of happiness from which pain finds feast
the irony of tears to moments that once triggered smiles
No! ...
Their is no solid ground
this nothingness is the substance that defines the darkness in my light

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
We all have those moments when we feel so lost that the simplest things fail to define the sense around us, coming back from that point is often so difficult but not impossible
