Loneliness Poem by Lee Boueri

Loneliness

Rating: 5.0

A somber moment

A ticking of clock

A singing bird

A passing car grinding the bitumen

A moment of silence

Patients fills the air

Waiting for more wheels to grind the quiet

Perhaps another songbird

Perhaps the November wind creaking the unoiled gate,

resting like a stretched sail on a still sea,

begging to be stroked by a summer breeze.

A sombre moment amplifies the theatre of the mind

Opening flood gates to release a hundred thoughts

Unable to Focus on one

A beckoning keyboard Promising a world of possibilities

Of like minded finds

Pan handling for a reply

A voice in the digital wilderness

A keyboard stroke to relieve the loneliness

Settling for a like

A sign of the times.

Plenty of telling hearing images accentuate the feeling of loneliness. Very skilled. 'A beckoning keyboard'- it would be hard to resist playing this tremendous instrument.
