An Ode to Human Rights
We fought for rights and fought like hell
many died, but human rights was on our side.
Human Rights, the world we'd tell
fighting till the other side fell
Human rights we screamed with pride
Human rights was on our side
Our morals claimed as our bullets maimed
Courage found and hero's famed
Fathers died and widows cried
But we fought on as we turned the tide
Human rights were replaced today
Given up, pushed aside
behind those rights our enemies hide.
For new values in this race
human rights have had to slide.
Safety and security now rank first place,
We say "they lied", as their children died
Security won through the barrel of gun
they lost their sons, we lost our pride
as we shoved morals to one side
and human rights came undone
A human rights poem is the cry of a conscious and educated poet who knows what is going on around him and has knowledge of history and the past, this is the pulse of humanity in an era of declining human rights and dignity due to the insanity of leaders and the greed of politicians, this masterpiece deserves 5 stars. excellent

" ... " they lied" , as their children died Security won through the barrel of gun they lost their sons, we lost our pride as we shoved morals to one side and human rights came undone..." Excellent...! Quite Realistic... a fortified axiomatic expression... Loved it.. Thanks
