Longer Days Poem by Barry Middleton

Longer Days

Rating: 5.0

the days seem longer
the way they seemed
when I was just a child

I don't have much to do
but I stay busy
I smile and laugh and feel

perhaps I stayed too long
the night is miles away
soon I'll be moving on

I'll greet the longest day
time is nothing now
nothing but my servant

Life and the priorities of a man change with age. For one who has lived a fuller life, there are no regrets when the time to say final goodbye comes. Even the death becomes friendly. Thanks, Barry. Your poetry has taken a philosophical route l these days,
