Look The Other Way. Poem by Carl Roussell

Look The Other Way.

Worn out jeans is all he has
To cover himself with.
He see the looks, feels the stares.
There's nothing he can do,
So he just looks the other way.

There is a man with no legs
Asking for your money.
He's in a chair wondering where
He can gat his next dollar,
But you just look the other way.

There she is, a woman drawn,
Beaten and battered.
Feel her stare the empty glare;
But her kids are still there.
She can't look the other way.

See the child in the paper,
Removed from her home,
Taken away to a safer place
Because no one knew before.
They all just looked the other way.

In your home you turn it off.
You feel you are worn out
As much as them; but then again
You've never been there,
So you just look the other way.
