Sometimes When. Poem by Carl Roussell

Sometimes When.

Rating: 5.0

Sometimes if you try
You will almost see the sky
And know that it is

Beyond your reach;
And you forever on the beach
While life draws off you.

You wait for time to wind down;
While you wait you wait
Patiently to die

The one death that will release
You from all that can never be;
Just hopes and dreams.

Dreams that have become screams,
Then too the screams will die
With you.

Sometimes when you cried
You might have seen the sky
And know that it lied.

I tried to imply that clouds obscure the Sun, Moon and the stars, all is hope is hidden.

'Despair' is an appropriate topic description, for this one goes much deeper than mere sadness. Like a total and complete loss of hope.

Yes, if you feel as though you have lost all hope, what are you left with?
