Looking Back In Time Poem by Mario, Lucien, Rene Odekerken

Looking Back In Time

Looking back,
to a time when the world felt lighter,
when your laughter echoed in my chest,
and love was the language we both spoke fluently.

We were whole then,
hands entwined like roots of the same tree,
growing toward the sun,
believing we'd never bend, never break.

But time has scattered us,
pieces of what we were lost in the storm.
Now the air feels heavier,
and every word between us carries weight.

Uncertainty lingers like a shadow,
complication weaving itself into every moment.
I search for the simplicity we once knew,
but it slips through my fingers,
a memory, not a promise.

I wonder,
can we find our way back,
or are we destined to remain here,
standing on oppsite sides of what we used to be?
