Looking In The Mirror

I look into the mirror and see an old man's face
Wrinkled, sagging chin, grey haired, glasses to see
Eyes still bright, mind alert and active
Quick thinking, responsive, ever questioning
And in my heart I feel ever young and bold.
My Muse is in full reign, still reaching for the stars
But body tired, blood pressure, overweight
Repeat medical prescriptions, health in decline
No longer able to run, now with shuffling walk
Climbing up and descending stairs an effort
Time presses me hard with minutes quickly passing.
But I have known the depth and breadth of love
That overwhelmed and made me strong of heart
The love and strength that came from you.
