Lord I Believe Poem by Gary James Smith

Lord I Believe

Lord I Believe

Lord I believe You died for me
That's when my faith took hold
And I asked Christ into my heart
When I believed the gospel story told
Here a little there a little
The Word had taken an effect
As I meditated on its truth
Being drawn there by the Spirit

Jesus healed the man of Gadara
He turned the water into wine
Why with just five loaves and two fishes
He feed five thousand at a time
He brought a stream of forgiveness
To the woman at the well
He saved a thief in his dying hour
From the destination of Hell

He made the lame man to walk again
He caused the blind man to see
He quieted the hearts of His disciples
Why He even quieted the sea
Remember that woman with the issue of blood
She felt His healing touch
He raised His friend Lazarus from the dead
Because He loved him much

Jesus Christ is our gospel
If the truth were really to be told
Before Abraham was, I am
It was a prophesy of old
His Resurrection is our life
For us who've repented of sin
For we have believed that He died for us
And praise God He rose again! ! !

Hallelujah what a Saviour!
