Lord, I need Your strength,
to get me through tomorrow;
to ward against the foes,
that only bring me sorrow.

Lord, I need Your power,
to see me through today;
to lift the veil, from my eyes,
so I can see the way.

Lord, I need Your love,
to know the joy of life;
to know the happiness,
that cuts through all the strife.

Lord, I need Your mercy,
to eradicate my sin;
to erase the former times,
of where my soul has been.

Lord, I need Your blessing,
to help me go on living;
to help me fight the fight,
of loving and forgiving.
