Losing Power Poem by Ray Hansell

Losing Power

Rating: 5.0

They'll be no moon to see tonight
As rain clouds fill the sky
We'll see the clouds full of thunder
As they're slowly drifting by

The storm has knocked out the power
Candles now give us light
I just might burn the mid-night oil
All through the night

Can't cook on the electric stove
Can't use the microwave
To all of our modern necessities
We've all become a slave

When the power will come back on
Is really anybody's guess
Now it's time for everyone
To speak up and confess

When we are without power
We can feel so very lost
But that's a price we pay
For a society that's gotten soft
