Lost - Poem by Shaneka Taylor

Slowly drifting in the middle of the ocean blue
My mind thinking constantly of visions of you.
Dreams so vivid it seems you're really here.
In my heart your presence is always there.
Floating in my mind's eye your smile I forever see.
Forever feeling in my soul that you'll never leave me.
And as I watch the cloud's slowly drifting by
The wind it whispers your voice telling us all goodbye.
All these things are lost, Belal, for you're not by my side.
I know in my heart I will carry you to the day I die.
