Lost And Broken

Rating: 5.0

I wandered once where light was soft and sweet,
In gardens full of blooms, both wild and fair,
But now the petals scatter at my feet,
Their perfume vanished, carried by the air.

I gave my heart to winds that whispered low,
To songs that promised more than they could give,
And now, in silence, all I feel is snow,
The frost of words unspoken as I live.

The stars above are distant as my dreams,
The rivers flow but never reach the sea,
And all I loved has slipped between the seams
Of time, a fleeting shadow lost to me.

Yet in the hollow ache of what was torn,
I find a quiet strength, though I may mourn.
