Lost But Found Poem by Wale Adekoya

Lost But Found

Rating: 5.0

i awake with
Conscious fear
Where's that ring
I placed it here

Precious silver
Diamond bright
Sheds a brilliant
Spectrum light

Search the cupboards
Draws as well
Perhaps it's lost
Perhaps it fell

Search the carpet
Round the wall
Down the stairs
And through the hall

Frantic turning
Tossing sweeping
Every corner
Almost weeping

Where O where
Can it have gone
Haven't had it
All that long

Then a voice
A gentle warning
Have you thought
To pray this morning

What you seek
By faith was gained
And faith is how
To keep it chained

Perfect wisdom
Sudden peace
Bids the mental
Stress to cease

So with faith
I take my stand
And find that ring
Still on my hand!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Christians shouldn't worry about holding on to things God gave them. If truly God gave it then God will help to keep it. If it was gained by faith then it must be maintained by faith.
