Lost Images Poem by soren Barrett

Lost Images

Lost images of the night
soften the starkness of days
cushioning sharp thorns of fright
as the drum of life plays

Melting sleep absorbed by my pillow
Darkness' water bathes closed eyes
With dawn, hope steams in billows
in the light, shadowy illusion dries

Naked, now lit head to toe
A sunbeam razor flays fantasy's skin
Dreams like clotting blood flow
in reflective pools of denied sin
