Lost Love Poem by Cory Jensen

Lost Love

Is it possible to die of an abandoned heart?
Tell me, is it true that you can drown in all your tears?
Can you choke on nothing but pure heartache?
Is it a crime to steal someone's heart,
And never let them have a chance to get yours?
Can you be cut so deep, that you bleed forever?
How can your heart shatter that for that person,
yet it will still beat as a whole?
Can you stand in a valley all by yourself,
Until vines start growing?
Why would you want to share your heart,
When it returns to you, beaten and bruised?
Is all this pain a figment of your imagination?
A dark figure in your head that you overlooked?
The burn in the pit of your stomach,
Makes you think twice about what you feel.
The acid from his words, the torns in his kiss.
Its the lost love you know it should be.
