Lost Song Poem by Samuel Segun Toluwalase

Lost Song

The war came
Our swords drawn in bravery
Our bodies turned lame
And our hands bound in slavery

We had hoped to save our people
We had hoped to be freed
We had longed to rescue the feeble
Victory was all we had believed

We had prepared our minds for a song
For in our ways we did no wrong
Our fallen heroes dead
No joy no peace no bed

For fallen heroes all over the world and the positive thoughts and songs of victory that they chanted as they marched to their death. Thanks for your comment. thanks for your comment
