Lost Without You Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Lost Without You

I do not seek a conquest
I don't seek a girl
My heart bleeds for a true woman and a friend
with a heart of gold
A true love that can't be bought or sold

I'm dying, of lonliness it feels
I'm falling apart inside
I have but one heart
and its been broken open wide

And when it broke all my dreams
spilled out on the floor
all I worked and hoped for was no more
and as I crawled blinded by tears
on broken glass
I salvaged one last impossible dream
and held on to it fast
It was a fairytale dream that I knew could never come true
and then one day I saw that dream in you

In your gentle gestures and care
I loved that you were there
my entire life I would lay to you bare
I'd give you all my love and care
and long for your touch and softness of your hair
I see my happiness there
happiness I have never known
happiness of which I only dream

And now I've come face to face with the one I cannot replace
a women half-broken by pain
she doesn't wear on her face
but hides deep within in a most lonley and hurtful place
Let me in....I'm here don't you feel or see?
felling closer to you, with whom I'm meant to be
Sadness and lonliness this they do..
they strip away everything that isn't really part of you
until you can see right through
and there is nothing else left to do
I risk all for loving you

Please tell me to stay
or tell me to go away
Becasue I can't stand the pain of not knowing
which way your heart wishes things to go
you have somone who loves you
please be kind to the heart that for you shows care
life can be so cruel, fickled and unfair
In sadness and dispair
Though I'm trying to hang onto love with all my might
soon I know I'll lose all hope and dissappear and not be here or there

Tonight I'm feeling that if I don't fit, in love with you
Then I just don't fit in this lonely world anywhere
