Lost Yesterday.... Poem by K J

Lost Yesterday....

Don’t envy my broken heart
As I sit stagnant, observing the death of art patiently
Gazing far away into the sky filled with colour
Hoping just for a glimpse of my lost yesterday

I do not envy the laughter shared between others
Deem my own heart impaired, I do
Not wanting any acclaim from anybody
I needed just one, to whom I could call out to
Still hoping for a glimpse of my lost yesterday

My wounds have frozen lifeless from a life on display
Dying inside for the warmth, the burn, of my lost yesterday
I do not envy the vigour in other’s song
As my notes fall flat, blunted for so long
Always hoping for a glimpse of my lost yesterday

As I sit back and lift the weight of lost time
As I stand weary, then step back
From the suicide of my prime
If I’m to rain on my summer
In my ball I’ll stay curled
An all consuming droid
In an organic world

Longing for just one spark, from the fire of old
Enough to burn today’s page, enable a new tale to be told
As I sit amiss, too off course even to sway
As I gaze into a sky, still too far away
Once again hoping for a glimpse, of my lost yesterday
