Louise Glück On Winning The 2020 Nobel Prize In Literature
Poet Louise Glück, you have won the most coveted prize
In literature, forthwith everybody is devouring your poems
Everybody is reading all the pages. This is no small surprise
You're walking on air. The sky is full of bright stars and flames.
The heaven is doing handsprings. The poetry world thanks you
You're on fire of love. You're smiling and you are now famous
And more joyous than ever. Many poets are eating honeydew
And cashews. Yes, your fellow professors are envious and jealous.
Be spirited and don't stop working hard. Perhaps you'll win again
The birds are twittering today. Don't pinch yourself; this is normal
The paparazzi are presently following you, don't stop walking tall.
Ms. Glück, you make us very proud. This is a new dawn, a new season
For poetry, for all poets and writers. Many of us are celebrating you
We are reading and sipping wine, while eating fries and froufrou too.
