It is only As we've
Experienced
Love-
Caring devotion
In our lives
That we can Write it down-
Express it In prose-
In verse-
Is what I once thought-
Even wrote.
Now I say
That there's A hole-
Avoid—
A place Within that
Lacks What it
Doesn't have-
In the way Of love-
Though It's never
Been experienced-
Tasted—
Tested even once.
We were made To love—
And be loved
In return
And love
Is something
We can all
Soak up—
Respond to—
Though we've
Starved—
Gone without
A lifetime!
