Love Begins Like A Ray Of Light Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Love Begins Like A Ray Of Light

On the lonely shores in my mind
My tears formed puddles in the sand
dreaming of holding your hand
listening to the lonliness of the waves
crashing and breaking
dreaming of holding your hand

I sat here alone so many nights
watching the stars
dreaming impossible dreams
heart void of hope and pride
crying inside
crying inside

(chorus)
love begins like a ray of light
on the distant horizon
out of the cold darkness of night
the flickering morninglight
arising

So many times I was mistaken
and thought I found you
But it was only the shadow
of my heart breaking
my heart breaking

An Angel sat down beside me
and gently caressed my heart
and whispered my name
and I felt something change
and rearrange

(Chorus)
love begins like a ray of light
on the distant horizon
out of the cold darkness of night
the flickering morninglight
arising
