Love- Call Not My Name Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Love- Call Not My Name

Love; Why does thee approach this way
None has spoken until now, you come
Who told you, 'Love, ' My name

Spirit away thy lasting tears
Mine own heart must always 'remain'
To feel what will only harm
No, 'Love, ' please stay away

False hope desires what you are
Once gone, will always change
Pursuit of something there is not
When done, are none the same

Of mine who was for nevermore
Dear Love; We once have played this game
Thy torture left a weeping heart
Where scars have covered stains

A chill has held a thought in place
Her eyes and lovely face
She holds my future broken heart
Once more thee calls my name
