Same old song day after day
Life’s real fine if done my way
Same tired rhetoric, week after week
Lost somewhere in it, the answers we seek
Hour, day; week, month, time is slipping by
I cry you laugh, you laugh I cry
Months are long years are short
Vice-versa so it goes
It says hello it says goodbye
It flips us off, turns up its nose
It peaks it head and then appears
Until it’s lost in words and tears
A feeling strong and then is gone
In you are right and I am wrong
And as it waves and walks away
We try to grasp it once again
With touch and feel and try to heal
With words that really say
