Love In Sixty Poem by Freeyad Ibrahim

Love In Sixty

By Freeyad Ibrahim

My new beloved Buthaina loves me really
Might she have not known I am sixty
I saw and loved her on the facebook page
I find her very beautiful and pretty
Glittered cheeks, soft light brownish hair
Eyes behind glasses glossy and shiny
Does she know or forget I am sixty
I still remember my love when I was twenty
Bittered that this time too would be misty
I'm encouraged that this time it maybe a success
Shall I invite her once for a hot tea?
She says that she lives a long way away
'but I love you regardless you'er sixty,
There is no difference between our two ages.
and I feel you live meters away from me.'
Happy so that I forget I am hungry or thirsty
I have become young in heart and blood
I feel that I have turned back twenty
It is like love purifies your arteries
That is what happened today to me
I 'm turned magically into a bird, flying
To where she lives in a village or a city
I told her that I bow before her beautiful picture
'I worship your laugh which is intoxicating, sweety.'
She told me; 'this is me when I was young,
on my profile you see but freshness and beauty.'
I sighed bitterly for a while for both of us
but we are of the same age, we'll both agree
to love each other hundred years old or fifty.
For one thing plays a role in love:
If you get older, it is said: what a pity!
But love makes you young... be happy.
