Love Is A Verb Poem by Mary Nagy

Love Is A Verb

Love is a verb.
Why don't you understand?
It's not just something you can hold
or give from hand to hand.

When I say I love you
you don't know what I mean.
But, when I gently touch your face
the love can then be seen.

You need to see the action
not just hear me say
I love you and I will show you this
with actions every day.

Hi Mary, I've read quite a few of your poems tonight, and I have enjoyed them all. This poem is heart felt with a nice idea (verbs are actions, and nouns are names of things that sometimes don't convey their meanings if not experienced) . Thanks for pointing out my spelling error (fa(r) ther) . Look forward to reading some more of your poems. All my best, Tristan.
