Love Is Giving Poem by Paul Sebastian

Love Is Giving

Rating: 5.0

Deprived Inner child craves for love
Cries for attention, deep appreciation
Pines for father’s love once savoured
Love’s soured with unreal expectations

Self-love grows into self-centredness
Self-worth displaced by superego
Narcissism tramples on loving-kindness
Self-worship inflates a demi-god

Meaningful true love is self-giving
It is other-centred, never selfish
It is not ‘What-is-in- it-for-me? ’ asking
It is not manipulated with love-leash

Happiness is earned not by riches
Nor is it in positions and power
Nor is it in illusionary pleasures
Nor is it living in an ivory tower

Happiness is in the heart of a giver
It is in giving one receives
It is not in being a goal achiever
It is in how one lives to give

Happiness is in the heart of a giver It is in giving one receives It is not in being a success getter It is in how one lives to give Verily, true love is in selflessness and selflessness gives true happiness. Verily, children should be brought up with love and affection. Loved reading and commenting Added to my poem list.....10
