Love Is Life Poem by Emma Woods

Love Is Life

Rating: 5.0

Have my lungs as I breathe you in
And show me the way to heaven
Have my heart as it beats for you
And then I'll promise us even
You stole my soul as you walked away
I won't let it happen again
'Cuz remember the time we stood forever
The times we ignored the pain
It took so much but now we're here
And we're standing still face to face
Heart to heart in the middle somewhere
Yet you don't understand your place
I clenched your wrist as you moved to leave
I felt your heart race through me
I pulled you close in a sense of need
A need just to feel you breathing
I read your mind as I drifted my fingers
Run down your cheekbone and lips
Then feeling you quiver though your mind just a shiver
I placed on your heart just a kiss
It's the world that's changing as we stay the same
I stares and saw straight through you
I could see you were crying even so through the rain
Only a smile could you manage in truth
You gazed up at me your dark eyes glittering
And I realised the tears were no more
You stole my breath when you told me you loved me
But little did we know what we'd sworn
To be in love is to know you're alive
When you feel your lover's warmth beside you
But to be one another's for the rest of your life
Is a challenge for all but the truth
