Love Me? - Poem by Emily Williamson

Brown hair, brown eyes
Fake laugh, dark mind
Pretends to be happy
You must be blind.

The darkness is slowly
Swallowing me.
A small ray of light still shines through
That must be hope coming from you.

Surprise, surprise, someones here.
Finally, help
After waiting all these years.

You say you love me,
Are you sure?
Well, where were you at when I needed you?
Oh yeah, that's right
You weren't next to me
While I cried

So here I am
Half-way consumed
But once I'm gone
The dark will be after you.

A well articulated piece of poetry depicting despair in bliss of love. An insightful poem nicely penned from inner recesses of the heart with conviction. Thanks for sharing Emily. Please read my poem MANDELA - THE IMMORTAL ICON. (Report) Reply
