Love's Flame Poem by Stephen Katona

Love's Flame

Rating: 5.0

There's nothing like burning desire,
To make your chest feel on fire,
But take care to attach,
To the right sort of match.
Don't add fuel,
If they're cruel.
Share your mind,
With someone kind.
Life will not be the same,
When love sets you aflame.
It can mend your heart,
Or make it fall apart,
So be smart!
This cause of pleasure and pain,
Will drive your brain insane.
Both woman and man,
Should learn how to fan,
Each other's trust,
And lust...
Give time to what must,
Be discussed...
If you feel old,
And love grows cold,
Learn to use a flint,
To light another stint.
Don't think to cheat,
That's accepting defeat,
Give your partner a treat,
And feel love's heat.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I'd been thinking of love as a wheel that needs effort to keep it spinning but after reading Valsa George's lovely poem 'Simple Verse- Love's Magic' I was reminded that love is more like fire, far less controllable, powerful, wild and scary.

OMG...... this is such a pleasant surprise! So happy to know that your beautiful poem is inspired by my simple verse! Yes, love is fiery.... sometimes it can burn! We have to handle it with a certain amount of precaution and care! Beautiful poem containing much wisdom...! I love your style! Lovely cartoon too!
