Love's Season Poem by Ibn Ali

Love's Season

As I sit and watch the autumn leaves golden,
Too weak to hold on,
Too stubborn to let go,
The wind blows with menacing intent,
Stay strong my lady love,
Each leaf a memory signalling our summers end,
A barren tree helps exorcise the thought of you,
Sun filled days, winter nights,
The moon in your shadow,
Your syringe smile pierced me deeply,
My frown belies intent,
The tongue is much more sweeter,
Weighty words fill a hollow heart,
But it's no cure for loneliness,

Yesteryear's dream
A montage of smiles and kisses,
Lustful stares,
Peering in each others souls,
Just to find each other there,
Do you think of me as much as I do you,
Searching for fading memories,
On a cliffs edge,
I'm a lighthouse in the fog,
Gazing at silhouettes.
