Love's Time Poem by Lonnie Hicks

Love's Time

Rating: 2.7

If you trace a finger in the air
will it land finger tip on my mouth?

If you write love notes with your eyes
will my heart cry out?

If I step lightly here
move my skirt just slightly;
will you see?

Can I flirt with you
and see
your waterfall
come gushing
down the hill?

I dance
in my wedding dress
unchosen yet
but worry will you like it?

Can I pick out my veil
and know my gauzy beauty
will still remain
once it's lifted?

How much can we
make Special Time
remain and linger
long moments
between
your mouth
and my lips?

Can you tell
my every thought,
caressing every word
with your soul?

If your heart had a name
would it be mine?

Step toward me then
from across this way,

I'll take that as a sign
however faint
that Love's True Course
is coming here
and will arrive

in Love's Time;
Sweet
and Fulsome.
