Love, Set It Free Poem by Paul Sebastian

Love, Set It Free

Broken, lost, void of life's direction
Uncertain, tomorrow's destination
You needed only a breakthrough
Seeking, by chance I met you
Searching for a door, to begin life anew
I was there to reach out to you!

Wounded, self-esteem crushed
A shoulder was all you needed
A period of healing heart's bruise
Physically, emotionally abused
You needed help for life to renew
I was there to reach out to you!

Rejected, downcast, defenseless, alone
Gone through hell till heart turned to stone
Few abused your trust, turned out rogues
Sorely hurt, sought positive healing strokes
Needed a friend to walk along your line
I walked with you till you aligned!

You grew, on a pedestal, stood
Strong, confident, in my stead
Imitated, strived to make it good
Then, away you went, wings spread
You claimed your birthright freedom
I set you free, to build your kingdom!

There's time, you needed me
There's time, I needed you
Being a winner, go, be free
Dear friend, I bid you adieu!
I pray, here on, all would go well
In what you do or where you dwell
