Love Story Poem by Aneek Chatterjee

Love Story

Rating: 5.0

I composed love poems
said the poet
Human relations, rush of
the adrenalin

Sensuous poems
I did write, not only about
lust; about human relations
subtle and sublime

But often these turned out
to be confusing, as I could not
recognize my own compositions.
They just defied me, my senses.
They went haywire
Went to dark bylanes,
muddy fields, forgotten caves
in the hills

Ancient reptiles welcomed
me in those caves, scorpions and rats,
smell of dry earth
wetted in rains

They were engaged in love, sensuous
activities no mind could unearth.
Scorpions with rats
Snakes with peony

Bear with the cave wall.
And I composed love stories
from cloggy bylanes,
muddy fields and dark caves

But they always remained evasive,
and defied me.
