Love The Heart And The Past Poem by Mazwi Sedibe

Love The Heart And The Past

Through the blindness of the naked eye
The fully draped in love eyes see.
Through the thoughts severest Hurley burley,
And the in-depth emotional confusion
The silence of the heart speaks out loud.

Listen
No need for a stethoscope, just listen.
Place your trembling hand upon your chest.
Clearly and loudly the heart utters
With veracity the need for
Devotional compliance.
Whether you like it or not
The truth informs you to love.

You may make a choice of whom do
You want to enter your heart,
Yet others will just break in and enter
Sometimes just to light up your world,
But most of the time just to steal a jar of joy or two.

From the lying tongue
The truth can be deciphered.
From the thieving hands
We can only recover the love stolen,
When we impute the hands that stole all of it in the past.

One only learns from the past
Only when experiences change the present.
One missed a lesson from the past
When the past through its thieving hand
Snatch's away all of the elation of the day.
Today and more of forever.
