Love Vs. Hate Poem by An Angel Without Wings

Why do lovers tempt the fates;
when chased by anger, fear, and hate?
Young lovers know not what they want.
They let their hearts lead their minds,
and give it all to one who's kind.

A girl will give everything she has for a boy.
For she thinks he will bring her joy.
A story book ending, a dream come true...
Those things will never be.
While love vs. hate is the true reality.

She lost her virtue, he lost his pride.
Why did their hearts have to lead their minds?
For a while they might be happy,
and think they did what was right.
Then the pain will come, some dark and stormy night.

Harsh words will be said,
While tears are shed.
These emotions are just far too great.
They cannot stand each other anymore.
She says, 'I love you.' one last time and closes the door.

Their hearts have been shattered,
strongly beaten and battered.
Will they ever know true love?
Love vs. Hate... Inside they are torn,
but with time true love will again be born.
