Love Without Sorrow Poem by Randy McClave

Love Without Sorrow

To be honest and so true
I wanna marry a woman just like you,
I want one soul to become two
Finally finding a love that I never knew.
I have been in love once before
But, I was kicked and tossed to the floor,
Then I was told not to come back any more
Then I came to a locked heart, and a closed door.
She said that she wanted me at her side
And how I gave her honor and pride,
She said that she wanted to be my bride;
She lied.
My heart it then was finally broken
But, not by one word spoken,
I was just a token
As though from a nightmare I had awoken.
I was used and tricked and also mistreated
I was lied to and ashamed of, and she cheated
Sadly, I was defeated
When another man she happily greeted.
So, if I live only today and then tomorrow,
And if another lifetime I could never borrow
If only once again I could find Cupid's arrow
I know that I wouldn't die with sorrow.
