Love's Fugacity Poem by soren Barrett

Love's Fugacity

The religious lechery of passion's treachery,
where each lie is a rape,
tears a black hole in the soul,
from which light nor love can escape

Bound with a cord of delusion, I was drug beyond solution
A dissolving orchid sunrise on an emerald siren's sea
spilling the scent of love, torn from a branch above
now transplanted far from where it grew in liberty

It withered by my side, tell me it hasn't died
Let me hold its beauty one more morn
Now a dead sun deceived, its spirit the grave received
Can dissolution's decay be reborn?

A melting sun on the horizon
gilds everything in sight
but fool's gold can not be sold
its value fades with the night

The color of death laid painted on a breath
Acrid was the sound spoken
that left the smell of pain, tattooed on my brain,
all my memories shattered and broken

But from this corruption sprouts an eruption,
new life from putridity
what was once slain leaves a sunset stain
but resurrects in briliant fugacity
