Lucifer Poem by AnaDiamond AA

Lucifer

Rating: 5.0

Living below the Kings and Queens
Sweet girl had just turned sixteen
Dreaming of livin' on the silver screen
To give her soul to the Dream Machine

Patrol,
Into her heart had Devil dwelled in
To release the dreams under her skin -
She met Lucifer on the corner of the street lights
'Fool's experiment, ' would say Darwin
But she was there to shoot in some heroin

That night you drove by
I guess you were there for the same reasons as I
Stepped out of the car -
A tragic figure reigning in a Paradise Lost
Bygone era's suppressed ghost;
A rose among the candy-coated nettles
A moon among the dazing stars
Your hands dancing around my waist like lotus petals
Spirit of a fallen Angel
Seizing me, too, into a breathless bell jar.
