Lullaby Poem by Cameron Gallant

Lullaby

I am in need of a lullaby
Play it to me softly for lately my ears have been dry
Strum up the cilia like a southerner playing a twelve-string guitar
Play me a lullaby as timeless as the countless stars

I am in need of a lullaby
Raise up my spirit so my fingers can grasp at the moon
Soft as the wind let the melody stir my emotion and mind
Softly and sweetly and calmly please play me a lullaby

Ease
Tension release
Music is kind
The soft and the sweet and calm are playing a lullaby
