In Our Hearts Poem by Cameron Gallant

In Our Hearts

The war that holds in all our hearts
That stayed so long and caused the dark
The war that caused our men to die
Though proxy to a larger crime

The war that stirs fresh tears for many
Behold our grief for loss of family
Nineteen years of dusty debris
Caused by an onslaught of North Vietnamese

And in every hour of clash between men
In every fall of family and friend
In every tear for those who are lost
Vietnam loss we still hold in our hearts

A moving poem. Americans lost more precious ones in Nam and now because of their govt. stubbornness, they are losing it in Afghanistan and Iraq.
