She occupied the table
Secured their spot like a virulent squatter
Bag placed on spare chair
Like a determined immutable surveyors mark
Glasses perched like water tanks
Of suavingon blanc and cab sav
Above the landscape
Of tableland dark imbedded stain
Serviettes surplus, triangular and square
Scattered like paddocks of undetermined purpose
Glasses, phones and wallets shed as out buildings
Crumbs and fragments of slithered coconut lay sparse as rocks to surface
Crumpled napkins abstract as rusted collapsed tanks protrude forlorn,
And ambient chatter flocks and wheels beyond our demographic.
