Lunch Time Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Lunch Time

I
See her butt’s crack
(Highlighted with label of her pants)

And I
See her red painted hair
(Black at its roots and is in need again)

And I
See mass of girls and the boys in the hall.
(Walking down and in rush)

And I
See her empty square golden ring hung of ear.
(Imprisoned portion of her hair’s curl)

And I
See her biting on a pita sandwich in with greens.
(She’s biting hungrily; extreme)

And I
See her face; from a side but more of her friend
(She is cold as if dead in the morgue)

But I
See her friend; possibly of Volga or Golden-Ring
(When laughing her teeth are angular)

And I
Hear sounds as if bees many and in smoke.
(Mosquitos at midnight when asleep)

And I
Read, the poems off a book I’ve received.
(THE UNSAID PASSING says Train me to claw … arch my back.)

And I
See time has passed very fast and without permission.
