Lying in me
is more
than just thoughts or feelings,
happiness or pain

Lying in me
are also the memories
from times long gone

Endless memories
stored and organized
like an encyclopedia
from childhood till now

And those same memories
are also the food
and building blocks
for the future

For they are my guiding light,
my invisible teacher
who will remind me at all times
to learn from the mistakes
already made
