Made Me Fearful Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

If I at all I have to go
Leave this world and forgo
To severe all links and bondage
How will I manage?

How the friends will be convinced?
How the brothers and sisters will be conveyed?
I thought for a while and sank
As this idea was developed in think tank

You can ask for excuse
You can refuse even
You can postpone under any pretext
But end time in life is real test

I had struggled a lot for success
I had also played foul game to have access
I did all sort of dirty tricks
Employed harsh words and stick too

It made me fearful and forced to think
What was course open before eyes could blink?
I gathered strength and surrendered to universal truth
One day I was to leave and it needed no proof

It really sent cold waves in spine
So far I was arrogant and dreamed fine
I never thought of leaving this beautiful world
“Who ever is on this earth will have to depart” I was told”

I remained in readiness
As fear signal worried my face
What for did I struggle whole life?
I had no answer for question like edge of knife
