Make New Memories Poem by Edwina Reizer

Make New Memories

Has your memory faded a bit,
Or are you as sharp as a tack?
Would you want to remember it all,
Would you want it all back?

Some memories that lie in slumber so deep
That are stored away in your past
May be the ones you didn’t need to keep
And so they’ve departed at last.

I try to make new memories every day
Even if it’s just someone’s name.
I make it a point to say it aloud
And where it was when it came.

The mind must be nourished and fed each day
Or it will slowly fade.
And all the memories that you remember
Are the ones you’d never trade.
