Making The Grade - Poem by Gordon Jerome

There is more to a woman than a hot sexy bod
And more to a man that the length of his rod
If your judgment of another simply relies upon this
Many pleasurable moments you are destined to miss
For where will you be when your looks start to fade
Or the one you are with doesn’t make your grade
Ask yourself this at the end of the day
Do they share in your thoughts or have nothing to say
Their looks can be deceiving they are fleeting at best
How you feel for them inside should be your one true test
If you feel the need for caring is it them that cross your mind
If you wish two arms to hold you is it them you wish to find
Are you thinking of another as you lay there in your bed
Could the one you wish to be with be another one instead
Your feelings for each other should be loving deep and strong
If they fail to make the grade then for you there simply wrong.
“closing thought”
A union of convenience is but a travesty so sad
For neither will ever know the loving memories they may have had
